Arts Diary: Will Marriott

WE hope people don’t take the title of author Leonora Rustamova’s book too literally tomorrow.

The controversial author will be signing copies of her book Stop! Don’t Read This – The Story, at Waterstone’s in Leeds tomorrow – August 27 – from 11am to 1pm.

The former Calder High School teacher was sacked after a book she had written with her pupils went on the internet.

In the new book, published by Hebden Bridge publisher Bluemoose, she tells the full story of what happened. Sounds a good read.

The Batley Frontier club will be welcoming a big star on to its stage later on this Autumn – just like it did in its heyday.

The venue saw some of showbusiness’s greatest names perform in the past, although in recent years the cabaret acts haven’t been as high profile as in yesteryear. However, on Wednesday October 5, the venue will welcome top comedian and TV presenter Jason Manford – as the star attraction for an evening of entertainment to raise money for the NSPCC.
