New beauty philosophy means make-up must reveal rather than conceal our faces. Stephanie Smith selects enhancing looks.

the North East, which found that only 43 per cent of women in Leeds are happy with the way they look, with 16-24 year olds the most likely to say they were not happy with the way they look (61 per cent).

Nearly half of women would prefer to be an improved version of themselves rather than look like a high-profile figure, and 59 per cent say wearing make-up makes them feel more confident.
