Comedy: If you have never seen a Simon Munnery show, book now. A veteran of the Edinburgh Festival, Munnery has dodged panel shows in favour of live performance. This work in progress begins with his attempts at plumbing, but will no doubt take numerous surreal turns. White Rose Rotunda, July 26.

Family: Time-travelling magicians Morgan and West return to the Great Yorkshire Fringe with their magic show with a difference. The pair play the greatest illusionists of the 19th century, but their tricks are designed for a modern audience and they have even fooled Penn and Teller. The Tea Pot, July 21 & 22.

Theatre: A master storyteller turns his gaze to the stuff of nightmares in Fear-tre of Fear and promises to shine his mini-Maglite torch into the darkest corners of your souls. Slightly kitsch, but always entertaining and very funny. The Tea Pot, July 22.

To convince the audience, everyone will be given five free drinks. July 21 to 30. See thethinkingdrinkers.com for locations.

Music: Curtis Stigers returns to the UK after recording his most recent album One More For the Road celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Sinatra At The Sands concerts and he will be performing alongside Ronnie Scott’s Big Band. Barbican, July 28.
