Food Matters: Cream tea idea as fund-raiser

The East Yorkshire Committee for The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) are organising a Cream Tea event as part of the organisation's National Cream Tea Week.

It will take place on Sunday, August 29, at Field House on Bridlington Road, Driffield, from 3pm onwards.

RABI has provided 150 years of support to the farming community and National Cream Tea Week was launched as a new fundraising initiative to mark the occasion.

Cream Teas were chosen because, apart from being scrummy, the concept is also relevant to farming as three aspects of agriculture come together – arable (the flour for the scones); dairy (the cream); and fruit (the jam).
