Food Matters: Don't be stuck for a Valentine

The Introduction Company, in Brawby near Malton, has joined forces with the Jinnah Restaurant, in Flaxton near York, to host a Valentine's Kashmiri Banquet especially for those looking for love.

The event will be a chance for single people from all over North Yorkshire to celebrate Valentine's Day, a day early on Saturday February 13, and perhaps even meet their ideal partner.

Lesley Brewer, who established The Introduction Company in 2005 and has over 500 members, has teamed up with Jinnah manager Saleem Akhtar.

Royal treat for your princess

Husbands and boyfriends wanting to treat their other halves like a princess this Valentine's weekend need look no further than the former home of Princess Mary.

Located in the idyllic village near Knaresborough, Goldsborough Hall was the Royal Princess's stately home in the 1920s. It boasts five ornately decorated luxury bedrooms.

On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February the hall is offering guests a seven-course dinner for 50 per person.

Owner Clare Oglesby says: "Goldsborough Hall is the perfect setting for couples to enjoy a romantic weekend away and it's not everyday that you get to stay and dine in the stately home of a Royal Princess, so it is the ultimate Valentine's treat for your partner."
