Food Matters: Taste of the sea for Lord Mayor

As part of the York Food Festival celebration of Yorkshire Food, National Seafood Chef of the Year Rob Green – chef/owner of multi- award winning Greens Restaurant, Bistro and Apartments, Whitby – is travelling to York to cook for the Lord Mayor. Up to 40 festivalgoers will join the Mayor's table at The Mansion House, for this unique event, on Wednesday, September 22.

The five-course dinner menu celebrates the food of the Whitby area, with lots of great seafood and produce from the surrounding coast and moorland hedgerows.

Rob said: "I am honoured to be preparing this special meal for the Lord Mayor and guests, and although menus for banquets have changed a lot over the years, all the ingredients I have selected for this prestigious occasion can be found in many banqueting menus from years gone by."
