Getting a head start in haircare

It's all about the shine this autumn for hair. Stephanie Smith finds out what's cool and hot this season.

New for autumn, Sassoon's Blast collection is a vibrant celebration of the new season fashion, created to keep step with current looks, including the techno-tribal diagonals of Missoni knits, the visceral lines of Christopher Kane's embroidered minis and the swaying motion of Roksanda Ilincic's '70s-inspired gowns.

International creative director Mark Hayes says: "The Blast collection sees hair and fashion working perfectly in motion and celebrates the dynamism of metropolitan life, reflecting fashion's fascination with the physical form."

Inspired by our favourite X-Factor judge, Elnett Cheryl Limited Edition Diamond Hold hairspray gives long-lasting hold with smooth, crystal shine that is still soft to touch thanks to a micro-diffused spray that disappears at the stroke of a brush.
