Starting from next Tuesday, June 7, at this hotel at Follifoot, Harrogate, Murray will be cooking, serving and sharing the story of each dish on the five-course tasting menu.

Murray said: "I have been working with Adrian, the Kitchen Gardener at Rudding Park so we can ensure the garden is ripe with a range of quality, heritage varieties which are usually hard to find.

"I can't wait to get started. It will allow me to create a range of dishes packed full of flavour."

A familiar face on the Harrogate and Yorkshire food scene, Murray previously worked at Norse, Hotel du Vin and the Yorke Arms in Ramsgill where he perfected classic techniques.

Murray was also second on BBC TV's Masterchef: The Professionals in 2008 and has also worked at Atelier Restaurant in Ottawa in Canada and for Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's.

Horto's five-course tasting menu will change on a regular basis and guests should expect the unexpected with Murray's fresh take on humble ingredients, showcasing them with a modern interpretation.

Rudding Park Hotel's managing director Peter Banks said: "We are thrilled to welcome Murray to the team. He is a talented, innovative chef.

"Our new pop-up restaurant is a fantastic way to offer our guests something a little different this summer."
