Hide AdA Royal Night Out tells the story of the future Queen Elizabeth II and her sister, who persuaded their parents to allow them to venture out into London to join the thousands of people celebrating the end of the war in Europe.
During shooting last year, city centre locations including Princes Dock Street, The Land of Green Ginger and Alfred Gelder Street stood in for the streets of 1940s London, while hundreds of local people acted as extras in the film’s many crowd scenes.
The screening will feature a red carpet entrance, a prize raffle, and a drinks reception in the bar at Cineworld from 6pm.
An exhibition of behind-the-scenes photos from the making of the film, shot by local photographer Andy Houghton, who was also an extra, will be on display on the screen before the film begins.
