Review: All The Young ***

The Cockpit, Leeds

THESE four lads from the Potteries have been signed up by Warner Brothers and will be supporting Leeds’ rockers The Pigeon Detectives on tour next month.

The band’s third single Quiet Night In comes out on Monday and is expected to build on the momentum created by first offerings The First Time and Welcome Home.

Playing a catchy brand of indie guitar rock with shades of The Enemy or The Alarm, All the Young are breaking few boundaries.

With the British charts stale as old bread and desperately crying out for decent bands – who is to say this lot won’t lead the charge?

Frontman Ryan Dooley is supported by brother Jack on bass with Will Heany on drums and David Cartwright on lead guitar.

On their third visit to Leeds in just over a year, ATY played a short but infectious set to their enthusiastic ever growing following at Leeds Cockpit.

Paying homage to The Cult with a brief take on She Sells Sanctuary, the band also ended the night in style.
