Roadshow helps Wetherby cash in on Tour de Yorkshire
Some of the world’s best cyclists will race along roads to the west of Wetherby on the first and second stages of this year’s Tour de Yorkshire, which takes place over three days between April 29 and May 1.
The event generated millions of pounds for the Yorkshire economy last year and is expected to have an even more positive impact this time with bumper crowds along the route on all three days.

Hide AdCo-organisers Welcome To Yorkshire have today confirmed plans to ensure that residents and businesses are equipped with all the information they need to make the most of the race.
The Wetherby roadshow takes place in the Town Hall on Thursday March 3 between 11.30am and 1pm and will focus on sharing information on how to get involved, build excitement and maximise the benefits of race day media coverage.
It is one of a series of roadshows being staged across the county that will also examine how the Tour de Yorkshire can help local companies generate business over the whole year.
Sir Gary Verity, the chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “This is the third year we’ve gone out to local communities to share information about how the race works and to discuss how businesses and communities can make it a spectacular weekend.
