Written and set in 1980s Leeds, Enjoy is described as an “idiosyncratic examination” of northern working-class life.

Untold Stories, meanwhile, comes to the Playhouse from the National Theatre for its regional premiere. Another production, Betty Blue Eyes, will look at how Bennett’s work has inspired others.

A season ticket is available, priced £84. For further information, visit the www.wyp.org.uk website or ring the box office on 0113 213 7700.

Born in Armley, Bennett is one of the UK’s most highly-regarded playwrights and enjoys unofficial national treasure status.
