Video: Behind the scenes at Opera North’s Das Rheingold
OPERA NORTH’S concert hall programme of Wagner’s Ring Cycle climaxes with another fully costumed performance of Das Rheingold on September 8. Here’s your chance to go behind the scenes.
Developing the “opera in concert” series, for which the company is becoming renowned, Das Rheingold is the first in the cycle that will be led by Music Director, Richard Farnes, over the next four years.
The cast includes Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke and the American mezzo-soprano Andrea Baker. Dame Anne Evans, Britain’s most famous Brunnhilde, is involved in casting, mentoring and taking masterclasses with members of the cast.
