What's hot for keeping you cool this summer

We are well and truly into summer now – fingers crossed the sun is still shining when this goes to print. No doubt though that at some point we will encounter a rainy day, it's inevitable.

We all know we can't depend on the British weather, so I say make the most of it while you can. Just a few changes to the items in your home can make all the difference.

Summer is all about bright colours. It's a time to go a little bit crazy with accessories. Since May I've had some gorgeous multi-coloured glasses out on the worktop in my kitchen along with a pitcher just ready for when the sun came out. They make me feel very summery

even when the weather isn't quite so hot.

Obviously summer isn't the time for full redecoration. No one wants to be indoors painting when the sun is out but it can be worth taking the time to spruce up the odd wall with a new colour or invest in a fabulous new piece of furniture.

With all the advanced technology about these days it's possible to shop from your sun lounger, so there's no excuse at all for not having a fab summer-friendly home.
