Here's how it works ...
Wetherby: Best dressed lady and best hat categories. Enter at the parade ring after the fourth race where it is judged.
Ripon: There is a best dressed lady and best hat category. Everyone invited to the paddock at a time to be decided, then a final 12 are selected and the overall winner picked.
Redcar: Best dressed lady and best hat competition. Racegoers are invited to walk down the catwalk where Polaroids are taken and judges pick 10 finalists who are invited to the winners’ enclosure for final judging.
Pontefract: Best dressed lady and best dressed gentleman. Maria Battersby, chief judge from sponsor Riu, and Wendy Glancy judge the finalists, first spotted by the Heart Angels who approach potential candidates.
Beverley: Racegoers head to the Ladies Day Marquee and walk down the catwalk. Judges take Polaroid pictures from which they draw up a short list. The finalists are invited back.
York: Variety of categories. Racegoers register on the day and walk down the flower-clad catwalk in front of the Edwardian Weighing Room. A panel of judges casts an expert eye over the entrants.
Catterick: Best dressed lady, best hat and best couple. Go to the Parade Ring after the fourth race and sponsors choose the winners.
Thirsk: Best dressed lady, best dressed gentleman and best hat categories. Judged by Jenny Roberts Millinery and Barkers of Northallerton judge. Gather in the Parade Ring at a specific time. Anyone over 18 can enter.
Doncaster: Format to be decided but the winner will go forward with the other Yorkshire winners to the grand final in October to decide Best Dressed Lady Racegoer.
