When the going gets tough

If you want tough, they don't come much tougher. If you want colour, then they don't come much more colourful.

Wallflowers (Cheiranthus) scent the air in spring and it's difficult to imagine that they have survived the harshest weather of winter. But wallflowers belong to the brassica family, so they have hardiness in their genes. Wallflowers are biennials and if you don't fancy sowing them from seed and then waiting all that time to see them flower, you're better off buying plants (see the offer below). Wallflowers love a rich soil with plenty of organic matter. They also need regular watering. But give them what they want and they will respond with a superb, long-lasting display.
