Rani, who has appeared on Countryfile, Watchdog and The One Show, won a celebrity version of the Great British Bake off for Sports Relief in 2012. The Leeds University graduate gained her first dancing experience by appearing on Strictly this year.

She is proud of her Yorkshire roots, explaining in an interview with the Yorkshire Post that she has become “a bit of a Yorkshire bore”. The support of the people from the county has been appreciated by her, as she has swapped the wellies of Countryfile for dancing shoes on Strictly.

George, the Birmingham-born actress from Call the Midwife, is hoping that the Sheffield crowd will make her “feel at home”. She said: “I had a brilliant time on Strictly, so I’m very excited to continue my journey and have the chance to show off some of my favourite dances to audiences on the UK Tour.

“I’m sure that it’ll be amazing to dance in front of huge arena audiences with Aljaz! I’m very much looking forward to the audience helping me feel at home on the dance floor each night.”

After the two dates at the Sheffield Arena, the tour will stop at another Yorkshire venue, Leeds. The dates for the First Direct Arena are January 28 and 29. It then moves on to Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham and London.
