100 jobs on horizon at new care home

A NEW care home, which has just opened its doors in South Yorkshire, is set to create 100 jobs.

The Co-operative Bank funded the development of Dinnington-based Waterside Grange, a 78-bedroom nursing and residential home. This is the second care home to be opened by family-run Horizon Care in South Yorkshire since 2010. Waterside Grange says it will create around 100 full and part-time jobs in the Dinnington area with roles in areas including nursing, caring, kitchen staff, maintenance and cleaning.

Its managing director Laura Higginbottom said: “We are extremely pleased to announce the opening of our second care home, Waterside Grange, which will provide excellent care facilities to the people of Dinnington and, we hope, a welcome jobs boost.

“My family decided to invest in care homes when, sadly, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and we struggled to find a care home that we would be happy for her to spend her later years in. Now we have two care homes that we hope clients and their families will be happy to come and live in.”
