Accountancy group’s first birthday adds up to a move to bigger offices

AN accountancy firm which has quadrupled its business in the first year of trading is marking the anniversary with a move to new offices.

As a full-service accountancy firm, offering everything from simple book-keeping to complex tax planning, Smith McBride’s services have been in demand since the firm was set up a year ago. Moving into a new office at Mercury Court in Knaresborough was the next step in the company’s expansion.

“We needed more space and somewhere easy for clients to get to with plenty of parking,” said director Gavin McBride. “We will be expanding further and we moved into an office which has enough space for that.

“We now have enough space for extra members of staff when we expand further to do some of the day-to-day work, giving us more time to handle any complex matters as they arise – but we will make sure we maintain that personal service which has worked so well during our first year.”

Smith McBride was set up in late 2011 by Julie Smith and Gavin McBride, who met when they worked together several years ago.

Before the move to Mercury Court, Ms Smith and Mr McBride worked from a ‘virtual office’ in Harrogate.
