Acquisition expert to hand out tips

Barry Dodd, who built the GSM Group into a £50m-plus organisation, will be the keynote speaker at Growth by Acquisition, an event being organised by business support group, the Connect Gazelles.

Mr Dodd, who led 15 acquisitions as part of the GSM Group’s growth, will cover identifying key sectors and targets, valuing potential companies, advising on the negotiation process and how to integrate a new acquisition into the existing company whilst getting the best value out of it.

Mr Dodd is chair of the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership. Car parts maker the GSM Group is headquartered in Wetherby.

The event will take place on July 19 at 5.30pm for 6pm until 8pm at Carwood Park, Swillington Common Farm, Leeds and is for Connect Gazelle members; non-member SMEs turning over more than £250,000 are welcome to attend as guests. Call 0113 384 5638.
