Addleshaw fee earner roles at risk

TWENTY-four non-partner fee earner roles at law firm Addleshaw Goddard are at risk of redundancy.

The firm, which has an office in Leeds, said it hoped to keep redundancies to a minimum, and some rebalancing had been achieved by not replacing recent leavers. The roles under threat equate to around 3.5 per cent of the firm’s total number of fee earners. All of the firm’s offices are affected by the restructuring.

Paul Devitt, the managing partner, said: “A year ago we set out a plan to improve business performance and returns. We have made good progress so far and it’s good to see our investment in client relationships continuing to pay off... But there are continuing significant market pressures and while our business is in a strong position, we are determined not to be complacent.”

Mr Devitt said the firm had taken a difficult decision to rebalance the size of the fee-earning resource.

Addleshaw Goddard announced that its fee income for the year to April 30 was £170m, a five per cent increase on the previous year.
