App firm wins £125k for construction project

Rail and construction app developer 3Squared has won a £125,000 grant from a Government-backed competition.

The company worked with Cambridge-based Omnisense and 1248 to develop the CAMEL solution for the Innovation in Location Based Services competition.

CAMEL - or Construction Asset Management using Enhanced LBS (Location Based Services) - will provide information to boost efficiency, resource use and health and safety.

James Fox, commercial director at 3Squared, said the funding will enable the business to further develop its use of cluster location technology to make construction sites safer.

The funding will be provided by InnovateUK, part of the Government’s Technology Transfer Board.
