Appointments: Architectural practice director becomes media centre chairman

Architect Simon Gedye has been appointed as the new chairman of the board of the Showroom and Workstation (Sheffield Media and Exhibition Centre).

He takes over from Margaret Bennett who is stepping down after serving as chairman for nine years. He is director of architectural practice Studio Gedye, the founder of Sheffield Civic Trust and a former board member of Sheffield First.

GreenPalm, the certificate trading company that supports and promotes sustainable palm oil production, has appointed Simon Christmas as business development executive.

His role is to expand membership of Hull-based GreenPalm, a programme that directly supports palm oil producers that use farming and production methods certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. He previously worked at GreenPalm founding company AAK UK for three-and-a-half years as a product manager.

Andrea White has joined Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) as the head of business development.

She joins the Doncaster-based firm from Kirklees Council where she was assistant head of service for regeneration and economic development.

Learning and development consultancy Jigsaw@work has extended its team with the appointment of Katy Allen as account manager.

She previously worked as a stock controller and will manage relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities at the Wakefield-based firm.

EMSc, developer and manufacturer of the innovative Powerstar voltage optimisation system, has appointed Steve Curtis as international business development manager.

Solar (PV) distributor Waxman Energy has appointed Simon Pattison as renewable energy manager.

He joins the Leeds-based firm from a national firm background after spent over eight years as a partner in Leeds. He brings with him all his clients and support staff.
