Appointments: Chairman for rescue company

Motor insurance and vehicle recovery firm NCI Vehicle Rescue has appointed Richard Jackson as chairman.

The Harrogate-based company, which incorporates the brand names rescuemy

car.com, rescuemybike.com and insurance4my.com, has 135,000 customers throughout the UK and is aiming to increase that to a million.

Mr Jackson has held key positions within Yorkshire firms since 1969.

Northern Ballet Theatre has appointed five new members to its board of directors.

Prof Chris Bailey, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Society at Leeds Metropolitan University; Cath Lennon, principal of Brigshaw High School in Leeds; Maxine Room, principal of Lewisham College in London; Victoria Tomlinson, founder and owner of Harrogate-based PR consultancy, Northern Lights; and Veronica Wadley, former Editor of the London Evening Standard and an arts and media consultant, have joined the company.

Law firm Ramsdens Solicitors has promoted Lynda Shackleton to partner.

Ms Shackleton has been with the Huddersfield-based firm since 1997.

She started as a conveyancer in the residential conveyancing department and since then has managed and helped grow the Holmfirth office.

Assured Fire and Security has appointed a new business development manager.
