Appointments: Expansion of audit department creates new role in senior management team

Accountancy firm Lithgow Perkins has appointed Mike Briggs to its senior management team as it prepares to expand its audit department.

Mr Briggs joins the Harrogate-based practice from Tenon, where he managed audit and accountancy services for the company's larger business clients.

Communications agency Turn Key has appointed Michael Robinson as head of marketing.

He joins the Leeds-based agency from Propaganda where he spent the past six years leading accounts and developing new campaigns for household names such as Greggs, Habitat, Republic and The Car People.

Gamestec, one of the UK's leading leisure machine operators, has promoted Peter Davies as commercial director and appointed Grant Widlake as sales director.

Mr Davies, previously business development director, will be responsible for all commercial and product-related activity including sales and customer relationship management.

Mr Widlake has senior sales experience in the software and electronics sectors.

Supply chain recruiter Transline Resource has appointed a new national IT manager to oversee implementation. Gareth Brown will develop the Halifax company's central KPI monitoring system.

He has held technical and management IT posts in the education sector with the Ridings School and Calderdale Council before running his own IT consultancy.

Legal consultancy Inpractice UK has made a new senior

level appointment and

created a specialist merger team.

Consultant Damian Griffiths is an IT specialist whose previous roles include IT director at Eversheds and Addleshaw Goddard and external consultant to DLA Piper.

The Leeds-based merger team includes founder and director of Inpractice UK Allan Carton, technology expert Andrew Simmans, Richard Blasdale, a specialist in IT systems selection and implementation and Rita Maguire, a HR and personal development consultant.

Building contractor Houlton has appointed Thomas Houlton as a non-executive director of the company. Mr Houlton is the fifth generation Houlton to join the family-run business that was founded by George Houlton, his great great-grandfather, in 1879.
