Appointments: Former singer-songwriter joins the team at legal firm

The creative industries team at law firm Ward Hadaway has been strengthened with the recruitment of Carol Isherwood.

Ms Isherwood is an experienced solicitor with specialist expertise in intellectual property and commercial law and also has first-hand experience of working in the creative sector.

She was previously a singer-songwriter in a signed band and went on to work for a music management company before pursuing her legal career.

Chartered Surveyor Eddisons has promoted David Newham to associate director in its valuation and insolvency department.

Mr Newham, who works at the firm's Leeds office, joined Eddisons in 2006 having completed an MSc conversion course at Liverpool University. They achieved chartered status in 2008.

Their responsibilities will extend to management of their respective teams and developing the company's existing valuation and insolvency client base.

Law firm Gordons has promoted four of its partners to junior equity partner in recognition of the important roles they have played in the firm's ongoing growth and development.

The newly promoted lawyers at the Leeds and Bradford-based firm are Barbara Rollin, head of commercial property; Janine Eaglesfield, also in the firm's commercial property department; Frances Davies, head of personal law, and Martin Holdsworth, head of contentious wills, trusts and probate.

Manifest Communications has appointed Amy Gregory as its new public relations account manager who will be working across a number of the PR accounts.

She joins the Huddersfield-based firm from Chocolate PR and brings her experience of working with both consumer and B2B clients.

David Hainsworth has joined Kentec's technical support team as northern region technical support engineer.

Based in the Leeds area, he will provide enhanced technical support and product-training to existing customers primarily in the north of England, north Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

Cobbetts has been appointed to the legal panel of the Outer London Boroughs' Consortium.

The consortium, which is launched this month, is intended to run for a period of four years and will see Cobbetts working with 14 local authorities in London and Kent.

The framework is an all services contract with Cobbetts advising on a range of matters including property, procurement, employment, dispute resolution, housing, planning and litigation.

Cobbetts has already been selected from the panel to advise on a commercial/property matter for the London Borough of Barnet.

A new senior partner has been appointed to Yorkshire Bank's South Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre.

Steve Tweedle, who will be based in Sheffield, will be responsible for the bank's business development across South Yorkshire.
