Appointments: Investec Wealth strengthens team with recruitment of senior industry expert

The investment team at the Leeds office of Investec Wealth & Investment has been boosted with the addition of Robert Crabtree.

Mr Crabtree joins the investment management company as senior investment director, and brings over 20 years’ industry experience with him.

His career began in the city, before he moved to Yorkshire where he has worked in management positions for a number of Leeds-based companies.

John Smith has joined law firm Last Cawthra Feather (LCF) as a property consultant after 20 years as a partner at Chivers Walsh Smith.

Mr Smith has more than 35 years’ experience in residential and commercial property and has practised from the offices in Bradford and Baildon.

He will continue to operate from his Baildon base for the next few weeks before relocating to the Shipley office of LCF Residential later this year.

Anne Johnson joins as senior building surveyor from Davis Landon where she acted as building surveyor for the maintenance and refurbishment of depots and distribution hubs nationwide on behalf of a national logistics company, as well as assisting in the project and quality management team for a series of prestigious residential green build projects, which included the award-winning Granary Wharf complex.

In addition, Adam Reay joins from Northumbria University to provide support across a range of current contracts.

The appointments come on the back of a new financial package negotiated with Santander Corporate Banking in July to support the company’s planned growth, which it hopes will see turnover doubling for the third year running.

Law firm Clarion has appointed four trainee solicitors and a corporate lawyer.

Anna Moran, David Grey, Jennifer Leithgoe and Nicola Collins are the latest recruits to embark on a two-year training contract with the Leeds-based firm during which time they will gain experience in at least four departments.

Meanwhile, Rachel Neems, a former partner at Keeble Hawson for five years, has joined Clarion’s corporate team.

Law firm Ward Hadaway has ramped up the expansion of its operation in Yorkshire with the recruitment of four senior lawyers. Richard Port, Gavin Maddison and Gareth Yates all join the firm as partners and Andrew Nicklin joins as an assistant solicitor.

Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance has appointed Nick Gibbs as its commercial development manager at its Leeds office. He joins from TSYS, a credit card processing firm, and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector.
