Appointments: KPMG executive moves into national restructuring position

THREE years after being named KPMG’s Northern head of restructuring, Mark Firmin has taken a national role and will now head the firm’s UK Regional Restructuring practice, from Leeds.

He will be responsible for expanding KPMG’s position in the restructuring market throughout the country, and will now have a 450 strong team across the firm’s 22 UK offices.

He said: “As someone who has worked in the North throughout their career – initially Darlington, then Newcastle, and more recently in Yorkshire – I’m delighted to be appointed to a national role from my base here in Leeds, where I will also continue to lead the firm’s Northern restructuring team.”

Real estate advisory organisation Colliers International has further strengthened its licensed and leisure team in the North of England with the appointment of Olivia Hughes. She joins Leigh Parsons who heads the regional team operating across Yorkshire and the North East. She has recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sibal, senior associate with Pinsent Masons in Leeds, is joining the Yorkshire office of Dickinson Dees as a partner.

He will be joining the corporate team at Dickinson Dees and is the latest in a number of appointments at the firm’s newly-opened Leeds office at Whitehall Riverside. Mr Sibal due to join the firm in September.

Source Marketing Communications has appointed Daniel Kennedy as its newest director. Mr Kennedy has been with the Leeds-based PR agency since 2002. It is run by Steve Clark and Peter Downey. Mr Clark said: “Daniel’s elevation to the board recognises his achievements over the last decade and the key part he will play in shaping Source’s future.”

MCG PR has appointed Sophie Hayes as senior account executive. She joins the Leeds office of MCG PR from Finn Communications.
