Appointments: Lawyer leaves Isle of Man for associate role in Doncaster

Sarah Burton has joined the litigation and dispute resolution department at law firm Keeble Hawson as an associate following a recent move from the Isle of Man, where she had been an advocate and partner in a leading legal practice.

She has experience in preparing and appearing in complex litigation and dispute resolution matters, being involved in both British Isles and international legal proceedings. She will be based in the firm’s Doncaster office.

Founder Christina Wright has officially taken the role of managing director and appointed Jeff Tyler as the finance director of the company, which was launched last March in Sheffield and now has 19 stores.

Other appointments include Iain Connor as technical director, Geoff Darnbrough as operations director, Vanessa Wright as human resources and training director, Mike Burns as the technical manager for the North and MK Things Happen to handle public relations and marketing.

Paul Burtenshaw has joined construction consultancy Jackson Coles as an associate. Mr Burtenshaw, who will be based in the company’s Leeds office, has 38 years experience in construction consultancy and legal work gained throughout the UK and abroad while running Paul Burtenshaw Associates. He has more latterly worked independently in dispute resolution consultancy. He is a former chairman of the eastern region of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Architect practice the Harris Group has promoted two of its long serving staff. Jamie Goldspink, of the Wakefield-based group’s affiliate company Vector Design Concepts, has been promoted to director after working at the company for 14 years. Sarah Martin, who heads up the project management division at the Harris Partnership and has worked at the company for 11 years, becomes associate director.

Wire joiner manufacturer Gripple has appointed a full-time market researcher. Born in Mumbai, 23-year-old Sunaina Nadkarni graduated from Lancaster University Management School. Prior to that, she gained two years’ experience in India as a market research analyst for logistics company, DHL. She will be based at the firm’s headquarters in Sheffield.

Debt purchasing specialist Lowell Group has appointed Richard Davies as business development director. Mr Davies, who will be based in Leeds, has previously held senior business development positions in Barclaycard, ShopSmart.com and, most recently, Visa Europe.

Law firm Lee & Priestley has strengthened its employment department in Leeds with the appointment of Nathan Combes as an associate. He joins the firm from Harrowells.
