Appointments: London lawyer heads north to join Gordons' commercial property team

Yorkshire law firm Gordons has enhanced its commercial property team with the appointment of solicitor Ben Lamb.

After training and qualifying at London-based Allen & Overy, Mr Lamb spent seven years working as a senior solicitor in the real estate department at Field Fisher Waterhouse, which is also based in London.

He advises on property development transactions and has frequently acted for high net-worth individuals on real estate matters. Gordons has offices in Leeds and Bradford.

Recyclable landscaping products supplier Hallstone Developments, based in Elvington, near York, has appointed Terry Ryan as sales director.

He has worked as a business development consultant for a number of private clients during the last five years. Before this, he was sales and marketing director at Rolawn, Hallstone's sister company.

John Gibson has been appointed head of the notarial team at law firm Hill Dickinson. Mr Gibson, who was born in Sheffield, joined Hill Dickinson in 2004 and provides notary services in South Yorkshire and the North West.

Hill Dickinson's notary services are aimed at commercial firms that are engaged in marine, commercial and international trade, as well as private clients.

Property consultancy Carter Jonas has bolstered its rural team in Yorkshire with the appointment of two recruits.

Chris Wilson joins the firm's Harrogate-based team as a clerk of works, dealing with all aspects of property maintenance for clients.

Joining the team as a graduate rural surveyor, Joe Robinson will provide advice on all aspects of general rural estate management.

Harrogate-base public relations agency, Acceleris Marketing Communications, has made a series of new appointments to support its client portfolio. Acceleris has continued to expand with the appointment of two new PR account executives, Rachael Hunter and Ellie Smith.

Ms Hunter joins the agency from Skipton-based agency, AKA PR, where she was public relations account executive specialising in the furniture, flooring and home furnishings sector while Ms Smith previously worked as communications officer at the Environment Agency in Leeds implementing regional and national flood and coastal risk management communications projects.

A leading management and development company has strengthened its senior executive team.

Acua designs and delivers accredited leadership and management programmes for public and private sector organisations across the UK. It has appointed Drew Norton as regional manager.

Mr Norton who lives in Huddersfield, will be responsible for leading the company's business development teams in the north of England.

Leeds-based Lowell Group, one of Britain's biggest debt purchasers, has appointed Steven Peacock to the new position of head of quality.

Reporting to Lowell's finance director, Philip Screeton, Mr Peacock will be responsible for the continued development of Lowell's processes, controls and reporting mechanisms.

Harrogate-based Ripley Capital has announced that Richard Bean has joined the company as an asset manager from GVA's office in Leeds.

He previously worked in the GVA Corporate Recovery team advising lenders and insolvency practitioners on the sale of distressed commercial property.

Ripley Capital was formed in November 2009.
