Appointments: Manufacturer of domestic voltage systems hooks up with a new sales representative

Harrogate-based digital PR agency Tinderbox Media has appointed Rob Cowen as a senior consultant. Mr Cowen is a former PR and Communications manager at Sector Skills Council, Skillsmart Retail.

Financial services provider Contis Group, which is based in North Yorkshire, has strengthened its team with the addition of senior staff members Andy Knight and Dannie McDonald. Mr Knight, who used to work as a sales manager at Finint UK, has been promoted to the role of head or sales. Ms McDonald joins Contis as business development director after previously holding the position of managing director at MEF, a furniture manufacture.

Leeds commercial solicitors Shulmans has appointed Neil Towse as HR manager.

With more than 14 years of HR experience, Mr Towse joins Shulmans from accountancy firm BDO, having also previously worked at Leeds law firm Fox Hayes.

Applebys solicitors, who have offices in Bradford and Huddersfield, have announced the appointment of Emma Semwayo as assistant solicitor.

Ms Semwayo previously worked for Blackburn-based firm Curtis Law and before that she worked for Betesh Partnership in Manchester.

Global property consultancy Knight Frank, who have offices in Leeds and Harrogate, has strengthened its retail team in Leeds with the appointment of Kate Howe as a senior retail surveyor.

Ms Howe has joined Knight Frank from the Manchester-based Northhold Group, a developing company.

Flexitallic and Novus, which manufactures sealing products, has appointed Dorita Weissfuss to the marketing team for both sealing brands. Ms Weissfuss worked as a drafts person in Germany before moving to the UK in 2005, where she began studying for a degree in engineering.

She also holds a Diploma for Design and Innovation.

Williamsons Solicitors has appointed David Prescott to its Bridlington office.

Mr Prescott previously worked for law firm Rollits who operate from offices in Hull and York.

Business adviser Grant Thornton has promoted Chris Petts to the role of director within its Yorkshire and North East advisory team.

Mr Petts undertook a secondment to HSBC Bank in 2009.

Bradford based-Chambers International has appointed Gemma Price to strengthen its activities in international trade. Ms Price previously worked with a division of HSBC.
