Appointments: New managing director for the North is named by Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets

Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets has appointed Mark Burton as regional managing director for the north of England. He was previously senior director in the large corporate division at Royal Bank of Scotland.

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Teva UK has promoted Richard Daniell to managing director. Mr Daniell was previously commercial operations officer at the Castleford-based company.

Law firm Gordons has strengthened its commercial property team in Leeds with the appointment of solicitors Tom Castle and Kate Johnson. Mr Castle has moved north after seven years working in London at Nabarro and Herbert Smith, while Ms Johnson has joined the firm following 14 years at Eversheds in Leeds.

Stewarts Law has recruited two more solicitors into its commercial litigation team in Leeds. Tom Matusiak, a solicitor advocate, is to join Stewarts Law as an associate in the New Year. He trained and worked at Herbert Smith for six years before joining Shepherd and Wedderburn’s London office. Stuart Carson recently joined as an assistant solicitor. He trained at Andrew Jackson before working in-house for Suez GDF in Leeds.

Legal recruitment consultancy BCL Legal has appointment of two new members of staff. Angharad Jones has joined the business from Australian IT software marketing firm, Inform Group, as a recruitment consultant. Gemma Crossley also joins as a consultant having previously worked at A1 Staff Agency in Oldham.

Driver Hire, supplier of temporary and permanent transport and logistics staff, has appointed two members of staff to its group services support team. Lee Devenish joins the Bradford-based firm as new area development manager for the South East. He has worked in the industry for 15 years including a period running his own driver agency. Nick Corner joins the team as telemarketing manager. He previously worked for PDC Education, a supplier of educational resources to teachers and schools.

Consumer research consultancy SimpleUsability has appointed three new consultants. Rachel Parker joins the Leeds-based firm after graduating from Sheffield University with a degree in forensic psychology. Mark Friend joins after completing a degree in social informatics and interactive technologies at York University. Meanwhile, Clare Morgan joins after previously working as accessibility/usability analyst at HBOS and user experience manager at Lloyds.
