Appointments: Wicketkeeper joins consultancy

Blacks Solicitors has appointed South African-born Yorkshire wicketkeeper Gerard Brophy as the latest sports consultant of the firm.

Mr Brophy follows a number of other high-profile sports personnel who have joined the Leeds-based firm in recent years, including ex-International footballers Robbie Savage, John Hendrie and Brian Deane.

The Harrogate office of financial advisory and insurance firm Ellis Bates has appointed Jo Nickell-Lean as its new human resources manager.

She previously worked at Ellis Bates before moving to Broker Network for 17 years where she was HR associate.

The firm employs more than 80 people between its two offices in Harrogate and Newcastle.

Levi Solicitors, has appointed niche personal injury specialist Laurence Daniels to head up the Leeds firm's personal injury department.

Mr Daniels recently sold his York-based personal injury firm, Daniels and Company.

Law firm Ward Hadaway has expanded its corporate finance practice in Leeds with the recruitment of banking and finance partner Nick Bell.

He joins the firm after 12 years at Pinsent Masons in Leeds, where he was a senior associate in the banking team.

Q8Oils has appointed Louise Donaldson as marketing manager for the UK operation.

She joins the 80-strong team in Leeds from TOTAL UK where she held a similar position in the marketing team for five years.

Lloyds TSB's corporate markets team in South and East Yorkshire has appointed Kevin Wilson as a relationship manager, where he will be responsible for bringing in new business as well as advising existing clients.

Mr Wilson, who will be based in the Hull office, moves from another post within Lloyds TSB, having previously worked as a commercial manager and a corporate personal banking manager, primarily in the large corporate and real estate sectors.

Kevin McKee has joined the business development team at Yorkshire Bank's Doncaster Financial Solutions Centre.

Mr McKee joins from GBAC accountants and business advisers in Barnsley, where he was a director and also worked closely with Business Link Yorkshire on delivering its financial health checks to small enterprises.
