Appontments: Law firm adds new recruit to employment team

LAW firm Dickinson Dees has strengthened its employment law team in York with the appointment of Penny Darragh.

She joins the firm from Thompsons solicitors in Leeds.

Philip Hollister has been promoted to chairman of building contractor JF Finnegan following the retirement of Philip Ryan. Mr Hollister was previously commercial director. In addition, the Sheffield-based company has appointed Nick Gillott and Gary Smith to its board of directors.

Digital Media Projects has appointed Mike Bower as commercial director. Mr Bower was the founder of Link Telecom, which he sold in 2004, and will now be based at the Harrogate firm, which specialises in digital signage and IPTV solutions.

Hilton Bradford has appointed Martin Bradnam as manager, as the hotel embarks on more than 200,000 of investment to attract more corporate and leisure business. Mr Bradnam spent the last five years as manager of the Hilton Bath City.

Deloitte's northern forensic and dispute services team has been further strengthened with the appointment of Richard Covell who will lead development of forensic technology services in the region. He has 13 years' experience in computer forensics, electronic disclosure and data analytics and their application to areas such as corporate investigations, regulatory matters and litigation.

A new managing partner has been appointed by Yorkshire Bank to drive its business forward throughout the North-East.

Simon Lenney, previously corporate director at Barclays corporate centre, Newcastle, now leads Yorkshire Bank's corporate and private banking teams in Newcastle and Tees Valley, leading a team of 80 business and private banking specialists.

Law firm DWF has boosted its recoveries team with the appointment of an experienced senior manager from Optima Legal. Justin Coley will be based at the Leeds office where he will spearhead the development of a national secured lending recovery service.

Stephen Kennedy has been appointed chief operating officer at CPP Group. Mr Kennedy was the firm's former managing director and will be responsible for operational performance across the York group's 15 countries including the UK & Ireland.

Chartered accountants JWPCreers has promoted four staff to associates. They are: Katy Booth, Alastair Byrne, Jill Campbell and Cheryl Midgley. The firm has offices in York and Selby.
