Apprentice benefits

Nathan Waters, one of the new intake of apprentices at building services firm NG Bailey, says he had benefited from gaining hands-on experience and one-to-one advice.

More than 4,000 young people applied for 50 apprenticeships with the family-owned group, based in Ilkley, which took on school and college-leavers for its annual training programme. It has its own purpose-built engineering academy in Leeds, which has been the springboard for 5,000 apprentices since 1969.
