Apprenticeship work is recognised

SUPERMARKET Morrisons, North York Moors National Park Authority and Yorkshire Ambulance Service were among the winners at an awards ceremony celebrating apprentices and their employers.

The regional winners of the National Training Awards and National Apprenticeship Awards 2012 were announced at Leeds College of Music this week.

They included North York Moors National Park Authority which received the Nuclear Decommissioning SLC Award for Medium Apprenticeship Employer of the Year; Yorkshire Ambulance Service which was presented with the Yorkshire & the Humber BAE Systems Large Employer of the Year 2012; and Bradford-based Morrisons, which secured the Apprenticeship Macro Employer of the Year award.

Large Employer of the Year went to Lowell Group and Medium Employer of the Year to Kaleidoscope Day Nurseries.

Apprentice award category winners included Alice Hawke from DSM Roofing in Barnsley and David Holbrook from B&Q in Halifax.
