Arco to takeover confined space training specialist

Health and safety firm Arco has expanded its training and consultancy division with the acquisition of a confined space training specialist.

The deal, which was completed for an undisclosed sum, follows Arco’s takeover of at-height training provider Total Access in November 2014.

Confined Space Training Services will join the Arco group, extending its reach to Warrington, Enfield and Crawley.

In addition to its three specialist training facilities, Confined Space Training Services has confined space support teams nationwide, offering on-site support and rescue for workers entering confined spaces.

Arco said the acquisition will boost its current training offering and develop its presence in the industrial occupational and health hygeine sector.

The facilities and expertise of Arco Training and Consultancy, Total Access and CSTS will allow Arco to offer a range of confined space services, such as training - including mobile training - consultancy, rescue, equipment sale and hire and maintenance.

Thomas Martin and Neil Jowsey, Arco’s joint managing directors, said: “The acquisition of CSTS supports our ambition to grow our Training and Consultancy Division.

“We already have our renowned mobile confined space training units delivering essential safety training to customers on their own site.

“The CSTS training facilities will enable us to offer our services in this critical area of safety to an even wider audience, along with an extensive offering of world class safety equipment and other occupational health and hygiene services.”
