Asda joins forces with HookLogic

SUPERMARKET giant Asda is to allow listed brands to advertise on its website.

The Leeds-based supermarket has teamed up with HookLogic, a marketing services specialist to allow brands to promote sponsored products in a similar way to GoogleAds.

Ben Cooper, managing director of Hook Logic, Europe said: “In the evolving world of ecommerce, paid product listings will soon become a necessity for brands, rather than an option.”

It follows a similar venture between HookLogic and Asda’s parent company Walmart, in the US.

Chris Conway, senior director of ecommerce at Asda said: “It was an obvious decision for Asda to leverage the technology in the UK, recognising the importance of paid product listings for brands.

“This initiative will enable our brand partners to benefit from enhanced and proven advertising opportunities.”
