Asda’s pledge to be the cheapest sees sales grow

Asda is to advertise two of its George clothing brands on TV for the first time in seven years over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.

The two brands are its Moda range, which is aimed at the mature shopper, and its younger fashion brand g:21.

George’s executive managing director Andrew Moore said: “We’re really confident about the Jubilee. The red, white and blue theme is performing really well.”

The brand’s £1 Union Jack socks have already sold out and a further 50,000 pairs are on order. Other favourites include Union Jack bikinis.
