Barclays moves its staff under one roof

BARCLAYS Corporate is moving its main South Yorkshire headquarters to the St Paul's Place development in the centre of Sheffield.

It has acquired new office space from law firm DLA Piper in a move which will bring together 50 sales staff from Barclays Corporate division in South Yorkshire, currently located above the Sheffield Arena branch.

Chris Forrest, head of Barclays Corporate in Yorkshire, said: "Our move to St Paul's Place will provide us with a fantastic office space and an excellent environment for both our staff and customers in South Yorkshire. The move enables us to bring together our existing banking operations under one roof while remaining close to the traditional heart of Sheffield's business community."

Barclays will occupy the second floor of St Paul's Place and DLA Piper will retain their existing use of the top four floors.

Steve Sly, managing partner at DLA Piper, said: "We have enjoyed a strong relationship with Barclays for a number of years and are looking forward to welcoming our new neighbours. St Paul's Place offers a fantastic facility which puts us in the heart of our city and business community – something I know is both important to DLA Piper and Barclays."

The Barclays Corporate move to St Paul's Place is scheduled for early autumn.
