Belgravium confident over prospects after strong end to 2011

DATA capture company Belgravium Technologies said second half trading beat the first half of 2011, boosted by new contracts, helping it trade in line with expectations.

The Bradford-based group, which makes and sells hand-held computers and software for companies to check on their stock, added it is optimistic on its prospects despite the tough economy.

Belgravium said trading in all its major markets of logistics, transport and on-board retail has been “satisfactory”, with on-board retail particularly strong.

After recently winning a contract to serve Monarch Airlines, Belgravium also won a contract with another major airline.

It has also supplied 600 units of its “Atlanta 5000” hand-held terminals to home delivery courier network Hermes.

“A benefit of each of these contracts is that they include annual recurring software licences and service revenue, which is helping to increase the level of the group’s repeat income,” said the company.

Executive chairman John Kembery added: “As expected, we have finished the year strongly. We have established a very competitive position in the markets which we serve and this continues to help us in winning new orders.

“We have a good pipeline of forward prospects and, despite the tough economic environment, we are optimistic on the prospects for the coming year.”
