Belgravium
in £600,000
deal for FDP

HANDHELD computer firm Belgravium Technologies is to buy workforce management firm Feedback Data for £600,000.

Bradford-based Belgravium, which designs and sells handheld terminals for sectors including aviation and fuel distribution, said the deal is subject to approval from the shareholders of Aim-listed Feedback plc, of which Feedback Data, or FDP, is currently a wholly-owned subsidiary.

For the year ended May 2012 FDP had a turnover of £1.925m and a pre-tax loss and group management charge of £54,000. Belgravium saw pre-tax profits fall to £282,000 in 2012 from £1m. Revenues slid 22 per cent to £8.7m.

Nick Shepheard, executive chairman, at Feedback, said: “Feedback has experienced very difficult trading conditions over recent years, which has resulted in the company’s indebtedness increasing and forced the company to manage its cash reserves very carefully. The disposal of Feedback Data will clear the company’s bank debt and give the group the freedom to focus on new opportunities.”

John Kembery, chairman of Belgravium, said: “FDP operates in sectors that are new and exciting to Belgravium and the acquisition will enable both FDP and Belgravium to share and utilise their respective hardware and software capabilities.

“Belgravium brings a strong technical base to FDP’s existing business and product ranges. We believe that with the additional resource and investment that we can provide, FDP will soon be restored to a position of profitable growth.”

FDP has clients in logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, leisure and consumer retail sectors.
