Big hitter joins as one of the crowd

CROWDFUNDING platform rebuildingsociety.com has recruited another big hitter to its board.

The Leeds start-up announced the appointment of Nigel Payne, the former head of secured lending at HBOS, as a non-executive director.

Mr Payne, who also holds a consultancy position with Blacks Solicitors LLP, joins Yorkshire IoD director Kenton Robbins and fellow ex-banker Gary Lumby, as well as newly-appointed communications manager, Nick Moules.

Working with ex-HML marketing director Julian Wells, Mr Payne will help the peer-to-business lending outfit develop its introducer channel, where advisers refer clients looking to secure finance to rebuildingsociety.com and receive 1.5 per cent commission on completed deals.

Managing director Daniel Rajkumar said: “Nigel’s connections and credibility in the financial services market will be invaluable.”
