Britons haven’t enough time for the priorities

Almost three quarters of Britons are struggling to devote enough time to their health, wealth and home life, an annual study has found.

The second Priorities of Life Index for Scottish Widows found 71 per cent of adults are struggling to devote enough time to their various commitments, a figure in line with last year’s results.

The most neglected priority is still health, with 45 per cent saying they don’t get as much exercise as they should, while 38 per cent are concerned about overlooking their health in general.

The poll found 38 per cent are unable to save enough, compared with 39 per cent last year, while 35 per cent fear they are neglecting their overall financial security as the economic downturn continues to bite.

And people’s home life is also taking a back seat, with 20 per cent feeling unable to commit enough time to their partners, 31 per cent craving more time with friends, and more than 10 million parents and grandparents worried they are not making enough time for their children or grandchildren.

Almost two in five people (37 per cent) feel they are unable to focus enough on their job security, with the same proportion concerned that they are not devoting the time needed to progress in their career.
