Call to publish bank probe

Lawmakers have piled further pressure on the Financial Services Authority to publish a probe into the bailout of Royal Bank of Scotland, which the watchdog has said it lacks the authority to do.

Chairman of the Treasury Committee, Andrew Tyrie, urged the FSA to publish as much as possible of the investigation into a 2008 rescue of RBS.

The FSA was criticised earlier this month for clearing former RBS chief executive Fred Goodwin of wrongdoing after it closed its investigation.
