Cellhire ready to make debut in the fixed line market

MOBILE communications company Cellhire is to move into the fixed line market for the first time.

The York-based company, which specialises in short-term mobile phone communication solutions for major global events such as the Olympics, said its new operation will provide calls, line packages and connectivity that are tailor-made to meet clients’ specific needs.

Cellhire will be working with partners such as Vodafone and BT to supply its new service.

Matt Bennett, Cellhire’s UK managing director said: “We’ll be targeting existing customers, but also new ones.

“We’ve got thousands of business customers that are already with us.

“When they find out they can get fixed telecoms from us we hope to capitalise on the good relationship we have with them and the good service we offer.”

Cellhire aims to target companies all over the UK, but will start locally in York and the Yorkshire area.

While the new offering will be based on service and relationships, Mr Bennett said that in some cases Cellhire will offer cost savings.

“In fixed telecoms there tends to be a more laissez-faire attitude than mobile. Sometimes customers are still on the same price structure as they were four or five or even eight or nine years ago,” he said.

As part of a fully converged solution, Cellhire will also offer its business mobile service, Cellhire Connect.

The group said this would offer customers a number of cost saving benefits such as free business to business calls.

“We already have excellent relationships with our partners and we’re looking forward to delivering first class solutions,” said Mr Bennett

He said that the company had a record year last year and this year is set to be even better. The group was boosted by the summer Olympics in London and the winter Olympics in Russia and is now gearing up for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer.
