City lags behind market

The regional city office market will hold firm in 2011, according to UK property consultant GVA, but some regions are faring better than others.

The Big Nine report, which reviews the regional office market by assessing city centre and out-of-town key performance indicators (including take-up, supply, headline rents and yields), concludes a strengthening regional city office market in 2011, although Leeds is lagging behind.

In terms of take-up, Manchester will comfortably lead the way. However, Leeds will remain subdued due to its reliance on government requirements which didn’t materialise in 2010.
