Clarion set to break through the £8m turnover barrier

LAW firm Clarion yesterday revealed that its full year turnover is expected to break the £8m barrier this year, as it continues to grow in a tough market.

Clarion, which was founded five years ago, has seen strong growth in its intellectual property, corporate and commercial practices.

Leeds-based Clarion is expanding at a time when many law firms are struggling.

Brooke North, one of Yorkshire’s oldest law firms, closed last month after being hit by the recession.

Clarion’s managing partner Mark Burns said yesterday: “I don’t think scale is the answer (for the legal profession).

“It’s understanding what clients want and delivering it which is the real key.”

Clarion is on course to exceed £8m turnover for the period from June 2011 to May 2012, compared with turnover of £6.7m for the period to May 31, 2011.

“We have recruited more than 30 new members of staff over the last 12 months.

“We will also see another key milestone in the firm’s development when we move into our 15,000 sq ft refurbished offices at Elizabeth House in the sum- mer.”

Clarion has 100 staff, including 19 partners.
