Clyde Process builds presence with £1.1m deal

ENGINEER Clyde Process Solutions has extended its reach into the food producing sector with a £1.1m contract win.

The Doncaster-based group, which specialises in pneumatic conveying and air filtration systems, won the order from an unnamed customer via its US subsidiary MAC Equipment.

The order is for the supply and installation of a flour unloading, storage and processing system using CPS's pneumatic technology. It is part of the expansion at a large production facility in the south central United States by a long-standing customer.

CPS chief executive Alex Stewart said: "We are delighted that MAC Equipment has won a further order from this global food and beverage producer.

"We are focused on strengthening our order book and are pleased to announce our second significant order in as many weeks, which was secured at healthy levels of contribution and in line with management expectations." The order is the latest in a string of deals which have helped bolster the group's order book.

Last week its subsidiary CPS Asia won a 1.2m contract from a large Chinese steel company. After last year designing and installing the injection system on one of the largest blast furnaces in the world, it won a new deal to provide a coal injection system as part of the rebuild of one of the customer's blast furnaces.

Last month Clyde also won two contracts worth a total of almost 2m in China and the US. It secured a 1m contract from a Chinese producer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to provide a series of pneumatic conveying and truck unloading systems handling PVC resin. MAC Equipment also received an 800,000 order from an existing customer – a US food manufacturer. It will provide bulk unloading, transfer, post extrusion and drying transfer systems as part of the expansion at a large plant in the US.
