Communisis continues to win business

MARKETING and print group Communisis said the expanding breadth and depth of its services is helping it win new business despite tough markets.

The Leeds-based group also revealed two small acquisitions in recent months have boosted its “intelligence-driven communications” division, which uses data to create high-tech bespoke marketing campaigns across a range of media – from traditional print to online.

It bought London-based software production agency Kieon for £0.7m and the trade and certain assets of social media agency Yomego for £0.4m.

Communisis said: “The group’s overall performance during the (January to March) period has been encouraging and management’s expectations for group results for the half year remain unchanged.

“Whilst market conditions remain challenging, Communisis’ pipeline of new business opportunities is strong and further new business wins are anticipated through the second and third quarters of the year.

“The board is increasingly of the view that the breadth and depth of the group’s marketing services provider capabilities, combined with its operational scale, is differentiating Communisis in the market and actively contributing to its success in capturing new business.”

In recent years it has shifted from being a traditional print firm to a ‘marketing services provider’.

Kieon has a development arm in Bangalore, India, and makes revenues of about £0.9m. Communisis said it will deepen its creative services including building websites and mobile and other digital applications.

Yomego advises on social media in on-line and off-line marketing campaigns, measures its effectiveness and provides insights into brand reputation. Its revenues are around £0.7m.

The company added the installation in Liverpool of two T400 high-speed colour digital presses is progressing well and on schedule.
